Your Summer Vacation Checklist
May 19, 2014Next weekend is Memorial Day and the start of the summer vacation season. If you’re going away for a long weekend, or in planning any vacation this summer, be sure the plumbing and AC in your home is prepared for your vacation too. To be sure you don’t come home to a disaster, shut off your water at the main valve before you leave so there’s no chance of water damage if a pipe breaks. Set your AC temperature at 78 so it isn’t running all the time. This is still cool enough to control humidity inside the home during hot, humid weather without running up your cooling bills. Close curtains and shutters to minimize heat in the home from sun shining on windows. If you haven’t had your AC serviced yet for summer, call us now at 610-593-5129 so we can change filters and check that everything is in good working condition.
