Tips to Keep Stink Bugs out of your Home

Warm weather in October means the stink bugs are active. But when the temperatures drop from warm to cold, they’ll invade your home seeking out warm places to stay for the winter. Chances are you’ve seen these pests on your screens and windows. Use these tips to be sure they stay outside. Put the right kind of screen on the vent from your gas fireplace or chimney for your wood-burning fireplace. Apply weather stripping and caulk around doors and windows. Have a door-sweeper strip at the bottom of exterior doors. If you have any rotting wood or exterior cracks get them repaired while the weather is still warm. Stink bugs are also attracted to light, so keep your curtains drawn and turn off outside lights at night.
