  • HVAC Service / Repair Technician

    To serve the increasing demands of Summers & Zim’s clients by servicing & repairing heating and air conditioning equipment. The HVAC Service/Repair Technician reports directly to the Service Manager & Dispatcher.

    Jobsite Expectations:
    • Explain to the client what service you are performing, and use the pricing guide to properly provide the client a price prior to work being completed
    • Wear floor savers while in the clients home and maintain a neat work environment
    • Re-check the system one more time after you’ve serviced or repaired it, before you leave the clients home to ensure that we did indeed fix it right the first time
    • Service the whole home and not just the problem
    • Never sell the client a repair that they don’t need
    • Thoroughly perform the proper inspection of the client’s system, including looking for ways to prevent future breakdowns
    • Explain the benefits of club membership to clients giving them the opportunity to join, and ensure that club membership customer receive the added benefits under their membership
    • Engage with the client to answer any questions and ensure all expectations of the service call were achieved to their satisfaction
    Industry Knowledge Expectations:
    • Completed at least 2 years of HVAC school or have equivalent experience
    • Must be proficient at using a combustion analyzer
    • Knowledge of how to function in role as on-call technician as scheduled
    • Must be EPA certified, maintaining a current NATE Certification is a plus (Summers & Zim’s will be willing to help obtain this certification for the right individual)
    • Willingness to participate in learning opportunities presented by Summers & Zim’s to remain up to date with industry changes

  • Plumbing Technician

    To serve the increasing demands of Summers & Zim’s clients by performing plumbing repairs and servicing water treatment systems. The Plumbing Technician reports directly to the Service Manager & Dispatcher.

    Jobsite Expectations:
    • Explain to the client what service you are performing, and use the pricing guide to properly provide the client with a price prior to work being completed
    • Wear floor savers while in the clients home and maintain a neat work environment
    • Re-check all plumbing repairs and new installations one more time after you’ve repaired or replaced it before you leave the clients home to ensure that we did indeed fix it right the first time
    • Service the whole home and not just the problem
    • Never sell the client a repair that they don’t need
    • Explain the benefits of club membership to clients giving them the opportunity to join, and ensure that club membership customer receive the added benefits under their membership
    • Engage with the client to answer any questions and ensure all expectations of the service call were achieved to their satisfaction

  • Electrical Technician

    To serve the increasing demands of Summers & Zim’s clients by performing residential electrical repairs, installations, and upgrades. The Electrical Technician reports directly to the Service Manager & Dispatcher.

    Jobsite Expectations

    • Explain to the client what service you are performing, and use the pricing guide to properly provide the client with a price prior to work being completed
    • Wear floor savers while in the client’s home and maintain a neat, safe work environment
    • Re-check all electrical repairs and new installations before leaving the client’s home to ensure the work was completed correctly and safely the first time
    • Assess the whole home’s electrical needs, not just the immediate problem
    • Never sell the client a repair or upgrade they don’t need
    • Explain the benefits of club membership to clients, giving them the opportunity to join, and ensure that club membership customers receive the added benefits under their membership
    • Engage with the client to answer any questions and ensure all expectations of the service call were achieved to their satisfaction

    Industry Knowledge Expectations

    • Minimum 2–5 years of residential electrical experience required; lead and supervisory roles require 5+ years
    • Working knowledge of service upgrades, panel changes, and circuit troubleshooting
    • Experience with recessed lighting installation, generator hookups, and EV charger installation
    • Working knowledge of current NEC code and its residential applications
    • Possession of required hand tools for residential electrical work
    • Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a plus
    • Willingness to participate in learning opportunities presented by Summers & Zim’s to remain current with code updates and industry changes
